"La Vieille Cheminée" is within the "Chateaufort" estate of 150 hectares, situated near the village of Chamarel in the centre / west of Mauritius. The ancient stone chimney that dominates the entrance is the last remnant of the village's former sugar mill and estate.

The Domain's Highlights In addition to its charming accommodation in a unique setting, the focus of the "Ecuries de la Vieille Cheminée" is the horse-rides and other excursions.

Chateaufort's small farm at Chamarel is the place from which one can discover and enjoy the inner country in its most authentic fashion and enjoy the calm, silence and peacefulness of this remote area, while being very close to the centre of the island (30 Kms) and to the west coast, namely Le Morne (10 Kms).
