Terms and Conditions of Sale

Below are the general terms & conditions linked to the different services offered by Bookmauritius.com.

Bookings and requests for the different accommodations and services offered on Bookmauritius.com are handled by our partner agents, namely:
Oazure Ltd for villa rentals and
Mautourco Ltd for hotels, excursions, transfers and all other related services. Payments are received directly by either of these two agents.

Reservation and payments modes.

Quotation Requests
General requests on availability of products and services received via our “Request a Quote” forms or by standard e-mails are not considered as booking requests; they engage neither the client nor the service provider nor the agency in charge of reservations. They are received with thanks and dealt with pleasure.

We invite you to use our online booking engine for a faster and safer service as those are treated in priority.

Our online booking engine displays only the accommodations and services that are available for the period queried and in accordance to the criteria entered in the query form (No. of adults, children, rooms, region etc.)
The online booking engine may display 2 different availability statuses:
- Available accommodations / Services will display a “Book Now” button.
- Accommodations / Services for which availability is not guaranteed at the moment the query is made online will display a “Request” button.

Firm Bookings
Rooms / Accommodations / Services displaying a “Book Now” button will require a secured online payment before completion of the booking process; they cannot be booked without an online payment equivalent to the deposit amount displayed in the itinerary window. The percentage of deposits required vary from one property / service to another and according to the period of the intended stay.

Online bookings with online payments are considered as firm bookings. They will be handled in priority and will automatically generate a temporary booking (option) of the product(s) or service(s) booked. This option can be valid for a maximum of one week or five workdays offering the guaranty that the product(s) or service(s) remains booked until the payment transaction is cleared by the banks.

Reservations Requests
On the other hand, accommodations / services displaying a “Request” button cannot be booked immediately. Since online payments will not be accepted against these, online bookings for these accommodations / services are equivalent to a genuine request for reservation.

Reservation requests made using our online booking engine will be given priority over quotations requests. Although they do not carry a “confirmed” status they offer the guaranty that the rates and conditions displayed at the moment of the request will be maintained and applied (except in cases of “Force Majeure,”) provided that availability is confirmed afterwards.

Any booking made using our online booking facility will be followed within ten minutes after the transaction is completed, by an automated e-mail containing all booking details.
Attention: This e-mail is not a confirmation of the booking but a confirmation that the request has been well received and processed.

Payment terms
In most cases, only a (variable) deposit amount is required to secure a reservation. However, the final confirmation of these reservations from our agents, remain subject to the full amount being received in advance. The full payment lead-time varies according to the service or property booked and to the period of stay.
No reservation will be considered as firm and final until the total amount due has been received. Our agents reserve the right to cancel a partly paid booking in case full amount is not settled in time and the down payment could be held as cancellation fees.

Cancellation Fees (In case of cancelation by a client.)
Cancelation fees vary from one service provider to the other and according to the period of stay. We invite you to consult our “payment and cancelation fees page” prior to making a firm booking.

Insurance
Standard travel insurance is advisable for all travellers. Furthermore, you may opt for a special travel insurance scheme that also covers, partly or integrally, your cancellation fees if you ever have to cancel your trip for important and justified health or personal reasons.

Passports and visas
All travellers must carry a valid passport and if applicable, appropriate visas. Please ensure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip.

Responsibility and Assistance during your holiday
It is understood that we act as promoters for transport companies, hotels and other contractors and shall not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur. However, the agency in charge of your reservations is the party responsible of the smooth running of your holiday but do not accept responsibility nor liability towards any traveller who contravenes the laws of Mauritius.

By opting for an airport transfer service provided by our partners Mautourco, you are automatically entitled to receive assistance from Mautourco during the whole of your stay in Mauritius.

Cancellations (by our agents)
We reserve the right to cancel any trip prior to departure; in such case full refund of all payments will be observed.

Jurisdiction
All settlement of disputes will be governed by the laws of The Republic of Mauritius.
